About Us
Lux Mundi is a young and successful Chapel Choir, one of the best amateur choirs in Moscow. It was founded as a Evangelical-Lutheran Stt. Peter and Paul's Cathedral's chapel.
During the short time of eight years, the Chapel Choir has been holding awards of International Choir Festivals and Competitions, performed more than 100 concert programs both with large combined choirs and symphonic orchestras that performed not only in Moscow but in other cities such as Kaunas (Lithuania), Kaliningrad, Gusev, Omsk, Saint Petersburg, Yaroslavl and Smolensk.
History
The Chapel Choir "Lux Mundi" was founded in 2013 by Ekaterina Miroshkina - the choir artistic director and conductor, the cantor of Evangelical-Lutheran Stt. Peter and Paul's Cathedral.
The Chapel Choir became an integral part of all services taking place at the Cathedral and also a regular participant of holiday services at cathedrals in other cities, press conferences at the German Ambassador's residence, major interchurch public events, musical evenings at the German forums in Russia, Christmas and Easter shows on "Theos" radio station, charity concerts etc.
Achievements
The Chapel Choir took part in the International Choir Festival and Competition "Kaunas Cantat" in Kaunas, Lithuania in 2015. Among participants there were teams from different countries: Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Italy and Belarus. Lux Mundi was the only representative of Russia and won the second place.

Since 2016 the Choir has been a constant award-winner of the Annual Russian National Inter-confessional Choir Festival in Moscow.

In 2018 the Chapel Choir was ranked #1 at the International Art Contest "White Nights Symphony" in Saint Petersburg and was awarded with a special prize at the "Golden Note"contest.
Repertoire
The repertoire of the Choir covers the music of various styles, but the largest part is the music of major cantata-oratorial genres.

The Chapel Choir takes the stage together with symphony and chamber orchestras, soloists – winners of various awards and performers of the leading theaters.

As young as it is, the Chapel Choir "Lux Mundi" pursues an active concert life in Moscow and other cities of Russia.
Our Team
Lux Mundi consists of more than 50 amateur singers of diverse ages and qualifications who chose singing in the choir as their hobby.

Artistic director and conductor
Ekaterina Miroshkina
Ekaterina Miroshkina was born in 1990 in Omsk, Russia.
She graduated the Choir Department of Omsk Children's Art School, then - Conductor-Choir Department of Omsk Academy of Music named after V. Shebalin in 2011 and Maimonides State Classical Academy, the Department of Choir and Opera-Symphonic Conducting (class of docent A. Tsalyuk) in 2019.
She currently continues her education at Moscow State Institute of Culture, at the programme of Opera-Symphonic Conducting (class of the people's artist of Russia, honored artist of RSFSR, professor V.L. Ivanov).

Ekaterina Miroshkina has been the cantor at Evangelical-Lutheran Stt. Peter and Paul's Cathedral in Moscow. In 2013 she also became the founder and the main conductor of The Chapel Choir "Lux Mundi".

Ekaterina has also worked as a choirmaster at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow with the Chamber choir of The Bolshoi's labor union.

Along with constant work with the Choir Ekaterina is teaching academic vocals for both adults and children at Fili Study Center Artistic Union "Lad".
Accompanist
Игнатенко Софья
Игнатенко Софья Андреевна родилась 5 мая 1999 года в городе Тверь. Окончила музыкальную школу во Владимире (класс преподавателя Ильной Н. В.) и следом Владимирский музыкальный колледж им. А. П. Бородина по специальности фортепиано (класс преподавателя Мартьянова Э. Г.).
Во время обучения в колледже дополнительно занималась теорией и историей музыки, а также органом. А еще активно сотрудничала со студентами других специальностей. Играла в ансамбле, аккомпанировала инструментам: гусли, балалайка, струнно-смычковые и различные духовые.  Неоднократно удостаивалась звания "Лучший концертмейстер".
С 2019 по 2024 гг. училась в МГК им. П. И. Чайковского на специальности "Музыковедение". Также факультативно посещала органный класс проф. Семенова.
За свою творческую биографию Софья неоднократно становилась лауреатом всероссийских и международных конкурсов, в числе которых "Бегущая по волнам" в Москве (III премия, II премия), "Байкальская токката" в Иркутске (II премия).
В конце декабря 2023 года стала лауреатом премии «Создаём будущее» от ПАО «Газпром». В августе 2024 принимала участие в качестве пианиста-концертмейстера в Оперно-симфонической лаборатории в Москве, где помогала в постановке спектаклей "Москва, Черемушки" Д. Д. Шостаковича и "Повесть о настоящем человеке" С. С. Прокофьева.
Последние несколько лет Софья аккомпанировала детскому вокально-театральному коллективу "Юные гнесинцы", принадлежащему МГДМШ им. Гнесиных. С этим коллективом были совершены конкурсные поездки в различные города России.
В настоящее время является концертмейстером в МГМШ им. Гнесиных, хора Lux Mundi, учится в аспирантуре МГК. им. П. И. Чайковского, и сотрудничает с театральной студией Vespertilab.
